M.Kes The main pillars of the lactating process is Early Breastfeeding Initiation, with breast-feeding in premature raises stimulus to produce and promote breastfeeding. IMD management is not always done on every labor by health workers, so that almost 85% of new mothers do not breast feed because breast milk is optimal does not go out. One of the factors that influence the production of breast milk is the long lactating. This study aimed to determine the effect of feeding time for IMD to spending time in the first milk in BPS Kasih Sukun district Malang city. The study design used was analytic observational. The population is 35 with a maternal sample size of 33 people. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling. The research was conducted in May-June 2013. Instrument research using observation sheets, the data were analyzed by using the coefficient Kontingansi and data are presented by frequency distribution table. The results were obtained from 33 infants mostly (72.7%) can suckle ≥ 15 minutes, 66.7% from 33 breastfeeding postpartum women experiencing first spending category that is rapidly hari1-2. Statistical test results obtained with Kontingansi coefficient x^2 count = 6.197 and x^2 tables = 5.991, therefore x^2 count > x^2 table it can be concluded Ho is rejected it means there is a long effect on the breast for Early Initiation of Breastfeeding on spending time milk the first, it is expected that every health worker to always pass the management of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding on labor without complications.
