Abstraksi

ABSTRACT Background: Infodemics, phenomena of tsunami information, get along with wirh pandemic Covid-19. In order to stop the spread of Covid-19 currently students stay at home and exposed by internet and social media where all the information seems to be difficult to differentiate between fact or hoax of Covid-19. The purpose of this study was to describe knowledge, attitude and behaviour toward hoax covid-19 among polytechnic of health students. Methods: This research was using quantitative design study. This descriptive online survey was conducted in a week. There were about 750 respondents of the study. The sampling method was stratified random sampling. Using snowballing technique, we spread the questionnaire online. Results: 57% of respondents not always updating their knowledge about Covid-19. 72% of the respondents admit that sometime they can’t differentiate between fact and hoax about Covid-19. 100% of respondents understand the definition of hoax. 74% of respondents found hoax news of Covid-19 in social media. However, 78,9% of respondents having high knowledge to differentiate between fact and news of Covid-19 news. About 41% of respondents choose to clarify the fact if they receive any news about Covid-19. 84% of respondents admit that they never forward any hoax news of Covid-19. Almost 92,9% of respondents do clarify the news and 20,4% of them choose to do check and recheck using social media when receive news about Covid-19. Conclusion: time allocation to use internet and media social is quite high among health students it’s getting higher during pandemic Covid-19 because they have to stay at home. Ability to differentiate between fact and hoax news is important while they were exposed by internet. Media literacy is one of things that will help them to increase that ability. By having adequate knowledge and attitude about media literacy and substantion of covid-19 we hope that all students have an adequate prevention.
