GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN IBU NIFAS TENTANG TANDA BAHAYA PADA BAYI USIA 0-2 BULAN DI BPS SITI MAHMUDAHKECAMATAN WAGIR KABUPATEN MALANG

Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in Indonesia is still relatively high when compared with other countries in the ASEAN region. This condition is related with the pregnancy, safe delivery assistance, and new baby care. One of the method to suppress the new Infant Mortality birth is increased services Integrated Management of Childhood Young (IMCY), because death is very vulnerable place in these periods (neonatal period). Infant mortality was also not spared from the home care and parental knowledge about the danger signs to their infants. To get a good knowledge, somebody have to get information about the newborn danger signs. This study aims to describe the knowledge of postpartum mothers about danger signs in infants. The study design used is descriptive. Its population is all postpartum mothers with infants aged 0-2 months with normal labor at BPS Siti Mahmudah Wagir Malang Regency 28 in total. Sampling using incidental sampling with 26 people. Data collection is using with questionnaire. Data processing presented in frequency distribution tables, the results showed the majority of respondents is as much as 53.8% had less knowledge, and a small portion is as much as 11.5% of respondents had a good knowledge. From data have been obtained that the majority of respondents who have less knowledge due to the relatively low education, maternal age mostly under 20 years old and do not work as well as lack of information and counseling about the danger signs in infants. It can be concluded that the knowledge of postpartum mothers about danger signs in infants aged 0-2 months in BPS Siti Mahmudah Sub-district Wagir Regency Malang are mostly unfavorable.
